Sam's Club University Temporarily Suspended

The University branch of Sam's Club has temporarily suspended its activities due to multiple complaints from neighbors. These complaints point to the obstruction of public roads, generation of garbage, and disruption of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.

After receiving the complaints, the Benito Juárez mayor's office, in collaboration with the Administrative Verification Institute (Invea), conducted an inspection of the establishment. During the review, inconsistencies in the necessary documentation for its operation were identified, resulting in the placement of suspension seals. The mayor of Benito Juárez, Luis Mendoza, emphasized the importance of maintaining order and the safety of neighbors as a priority, ensuring that commercial establishments will not be allowed to cause harm to citizens.

Sam's Club Universidad will have a period of 10 working days to correct the inconsistencies detected in its records and regularize its situation. Among the complaints from local residents were the maneuvers carried out by the store in the area designated for loading and unloading goods, which caused traffic blockages on Mexico Coyoacán Street, as well as obstruction of pedestrian passage and accumulation of garbage.
